Meet Mina

I was brought up in a traditional Indian household in Bradford, the curry capital of Britain. From an early age I was introduced to Indian cooking. I often assisted her mother in cooking for an extended family of uncles, grandparents and cousins. I soon learnt to recognize the names of spices from their unique aromas.

My cooking skills were further developed as a student where very often I would prepare feasts for my very hungry friends.

As a Pharmacist, my curiosity for the health benefits of various spices developed. For example I would use ginger for colds, turmeric for all round health, garlic for a healthy blood pressure, and many more.

In 2010 I raised money doing an Indian cookery demonstration which was where the idea of Just One Spice was born. People were so impressed by the natural spice flavours and wanted to get hold of the spices used.
Food and spices can keep us healthy and make us feel great. Creating a fabulous, tasty curry can be very satisfying and therapeutic. However, it can be tricky to remember which spice to use and how much to add to different foods.

Just One Spice takes the guess work out of using spices to get the authentic spice blend. I’ve sourced the best quality whole spices, which are freshly ground and blended following my secret family recipe.
